Fayette County is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, bordering both West Virginia and Maryland. Included in the Pittsburgh statistical metro area, Fayette County offers a wealth of options for work, play, and education.

Want to get out the door and into nature? Fayette County is the place to be. Visit the Great Allegheny Passage. Walk and bike along the rail trail system of Maryland and Pennsylvania. Or spend a day at beautiful Ohiopyle State Park. Bordered by two rivers, the Monongahela to the west and the Youghiogheny to the east, the area offers plenty of opportunity for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting, and swimming as well.

The county seat, Uniontown, is included in the National Register of historic sites. Of particular significance is the city’s role as a key station in the Underground Railroad, honored by a marker on Baker’s Alley. Uniontown is also home to Westmoreland County Community College – Fayette and one of the Laurel Business Institute’s five community campuses.
