Celebrate the Grand Reopening and 4th Of July Celebration of America at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park.

The newly renovated Hazel Ruby McQuain Park in Morgantown hosts this year’s July 4th Celebration of America. And, ribbon-cutting and grand reopening ceremony will take place before the holiday celebrations begin. Because of the shutdown from COVID-19 last July, Morgantown postponed the $4.3 million renovation celebration to this year, just in time for July 4. The expansive renovations include:

  • an enlarging the Ruby Amphitheater
  • the realignment and updated lighting of the Caperton Rail-Trail
  • some upgrades to Morgantown’s historic train depot
  • the development of a new plaza, green room, and modernized restroom facilities.

There are also enhancements to the Walnut Street Landing which include the accessible kayak launch.

The 4th of July Celebration of America will begin at 6:00 PM. So, enjoy an exciting evening complete with food truck vendors and live musical performances from The Nied’s Hotel Band, The New Relics, and Cody Clayton. And, celebrants should expect this extravaganza to make up for 2020. The fireworks show schedule begins at 10:00 PM to round out the evening’s festivities.
